Fall 2025

The Alpha Course at CEC

What if there were a safe place to ask life’s deepest questions? What if there were a truly comfortable, welcoming, and fun place for people to explore the Christian faith and enjoy a meal together? What if you were able to spend time with others in that place over the course of several weeks and develop warm friendships? What if someone of no faith at all found such a place at Christ Church?

This is the kind of environment we seek to foster at CEC as we kick off a new eight-week Alpha Course this fall beginning on Wednesday, September 10 and running through Wednesday, October 29.

Alpha was created and developed at a church in London and has now been offered around the world in churches, homes, schools, prisons, and even on-line to allow people to find the kind of place we all hope the church can be. It is widely considered as one of the most effective ways to foster a relaxed environment for talking about faith, God, Jesus, and life – not with the goal of imparting knowledge, but for true exploration and community. Alpha is designed for skeptic and life-long Christians alike, and wherever one is on their faith journey, Alpha offers a non-threatening way to learn and grow.

We will begin each session with dinner at 6:00PM followed by an engaging film and table conversations.

All Creatures Great and Small: Blessing of the Animals

Mark for calendars for CEC’s annual Blessing of the Animals on Saturday October 4, from 9:00-11:00AM. We’ll have pup cups, doggie treats, and more – don’t miss out!

Churches have gathered for over 800 years to bless animals on or near the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. This is a wonderful opportunity to invite friends, families, and neighbors to CEC. We will be posting the event on social media, so please share from CEC to your personal Facebook and Instagram accounts to help spread the words. Remember, however, that personal invitations are the most effective way to draw others to church services or events like this!

CEC Trunk or Treat

CEC will host our annual Truck or Treat on Sunday, October 26, from 4:00-6:00PM. We’re adding some other activities for this year’s event, and you won’t want to miss it.
