COMING UP

WEDNESDAY EVENING DISCIPLESHIP

The Four Chapter Gospel

We hope to see you for this week’s new Wednesday Evening Discipleship class! As usual, we’ll begin with a light supper at 6:00PM then move to the teaching and conversation.

Too often, we think of the gospel as beginning with sin and ending with salvation—but God’s story is far bigger than that. The Four-Chapter Gospel invites us to see the grand narrative of Scripture: Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration. From the goodness of God’s original design to the promise of a renewed heaven and earth, this framework helps us grasp not only what God has done, but what He is still doing—and how our everyday lives fit into His redemptive work.

Join us as we trace the sweeping story of Scripture and rediscover what it means to live as participants in God’s ongoing restoration of the world, and then ask a familiar question: So What? What does the Four Chapter Gospel mean for us as we go about our daily routine and lives?

GREENING THE CHURCH

On the Fourth Sunday of Advent, December 21, we invite everyone to stay after the service for the traditional “Greening the Church.” We will begin with a soup and sandwich lunch. Next, we will all participate in decorating the Parish Hall Christmas Tree—please bring an ornament (per individual or family) to add, making it a true CEC community design! Next, Alix Bernard and Betty Minton will direct us in decorating—”greening”—the other areas. The joyful custom of greening the Church symbolizes hope and the everlasting life we celebrate Christ’s birth. Whether you’re a longtime member or new to our community, we hope you will share in this festive tradition.

CHRISTMAS EVE

We hope you will join us for worship on Wednesday, December 24 as we celebrate the Feast of the Nativity. Our pre-service music will begin at 6:30PM and our service will begin at 7.
